Coaching Staff '20

Adam Cheifetz:

This is Adam’s 5th year coaching for Garrett Farms, his 2nd summer as head coach, and his 12th overall summer with the team. Adam has swam for over a decade with Carolina Aquatic Team, a local year-round swim team. Adam is a rising sophomore at Elon University majoring in Business Management with minors in Coaching & Adventure Based Learning. He is also a part of the university's club swim team. A fun fact about Adam is that his dream goal is to compete on the hit reality TV series, Survivor, on CBS.

Caroline Smith:

We are so excited to welcome back Caroline to our coaching staff! This is Caroline’s 4th summer coaching for us. When she was younger, she swam for many years on our team. She now is a mom with two kids who both compete for the Gators. During the school year, she works at Forest View Elementary as a data manager. A fun fact about Caroline is that she is very creative and loves making things! 

Grace Howell:

This is Grace’s second year as a coach, and has previously volunteered with the team for many summers. Grace has also swam for the team since she was 6 years old. In addition, when Grace was younger, she swam for a local year-round team. Grace is a rising sophomore at UNCG and is working towards a BFA in Musical Theater. After college, Grace hopes to perform on a touring show or a cruise ship. A fun fact about Grace is that she can recite up to 24 digits of pi.

Riley Gibson: 
Riley is brand new to Garrett Farms but has over 10 years of swimming experience, competing for both a summer league team and his high school. Riley is a rising sophomore at Elon University where he is majoring in Tech. Theater. He also recently graduated from Jordan High School in 2019. At Elon he is also a part of the club swim team and works as a tour guide for potential new students. A fun fact about Riley is that he can juggle without his eyes open.  

Sara Cheifetz: 

Sara is brand new to the coaching staff but she has been with the Garrett Farms swim team since the age of 6. She is a rising senior at Research Triangle High School. She has swam for her high school the past few years and used to swim for a year round team when she was younger. Outside of the pool, Sara really loves dancing.
